SoftSuede Clear
Polymeric has developed a one-part water based soft touch clear for both screen printing and roller coat applications. The coating was specifically designed for book covers, posters and POP applications, making it an excellent alternative to the more costly conventional UV overprint matte coatings. SoftSuede is able to withstand most post-printing operations such as die-cutting, scoring, folding, foil stamping, embossing and thermoforming. The coating has excellent water and chemical resistance and adheres to most rigid plastics, board and coated paper stocks. It is compatible over many solvent and UV inks. When properly applied, SoftSuede exhibits an extremely low gloss, supple finish. Testing is underway to determine the coating's suitability for inkjet receptivity. SCRATCH OFF SILVER & PRIMER COAT
Polymeric Imaging has developed a brilliant, one-part silver for scratch off applications. The silver can be used in combination with our UV Primer Coat to provide excellent scratchability and opacity. The silver can be applied in one pass using a 280 plain weave mesh screen and cured using a 300 watts/inch medium pressure mercury vapor lamp. By eliminating multiple passes of silver, time and expense can be reduced compared to other scratch off inks. The silver has also been shown to work with some soy and water-based primer coats. Please call Polymeric Imaging's Technical Service Department for print samples.
